Moab Friends-For-Wheelin’ conducted it’s fall cleanup and downed trees removal on Saturday. Jim Molter, Jeff and Susan Stevens, Ber and Charlotte Knight met at the trail head at 8:30 and drove up from Pack Creek picnic area to the top of La Sal Pass. The road was in good condition with minimal litter and we only had to remove a few trees that were encroaching on the roadway. Photos by Jim and Susan.

After weeks of rescheduling due to snow, the Moab Friends-For-Wheelin’ club and the Red Rock 4 Wheel drive club were finally able to get out to repair the wood fence that vandals had burned earlier this winter. The entire Hell’s Revenge route is still not opened because of snow, so permission was obtained from the BLM and the Sand Flat Recreation personnel to enter the exit route to gain access to the damaged fence at the Escalator obstacle. Joe of the Sand Flats Recreation furnished the logs and lag bolts and the Moab Friends-For-Wheelin’ supplied the generator and other power tools to make the necessary repairs. Thanks to all that helped ( Jim Molter, Jeff Stevens, DeVon and Marlene Parson, Gary Lee Fischer, Doug McElhaney, Jim Widdison and Chuck Haurencis.

Friday the weather started out cold when we were airing down at the entrance to Pritchett Canyon. The plan for today was to upgrade the winch anchors at the Rocker Knocker and Axle Hill obstacles. We also planed to add a winch anchor at the Son of Rock Pile. Jim also marked Pritchett and Hunter Canyon with his painting wand. Photos by Jim.
